How should I look after leather products?
We want you to enjoy our products and for them to give you years of pleasure. Leather is a natural product which breathes and has its specific and individual features after years of use. We only choose the finest leather for our products. The distinctive Hemisphere Sud leathers contribute to the unique nature of each of our hand-finished products.
Please read here some easy end effective ways to protect your leather products:
Before using a new leather bag, a simple precaution is to rub carefully with a colourless wax to protect against rain or other water stains and afterwards polish it with a piece of cloth.
If your bag does get wet, swab with a soft absorbent cloth and leave to dry naturally, taking care not to expose to heat. Then, when dry, treat with a colourless or neutral leather cream and polish gently.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE OF LEATHER
For the regular maintenance of leather, remove dust and polish regularly. Apply some specialised leather cream from time to time to nourish and restore the leather.
Make sure that leather items are stored away from direct sunlight.
Patent leather: Patent leather can be cleaned very easily. Use a clean moist sponge then wipe carefully with a dry cotton cloth. Rubbing olive oil with a cotton cloth on patent leather will make it shine. Leave to act some minutes before rubbing it with a dry cloth.
Suede: Suedes are quickly damaged and particularly at certain spots exposed to rubbing. If it is flattened and almost shiny, try to reconstitute its initial velvet by rubbing the shiny areas with a soft brush. A wire brush can be used but be careful not to be too energetic!
