» Anne-Christine Lévigne-Fletcher
The daughter of a geographer with a passion for travel and a mother employed by the French Ministry for Antiquities; Anne-Christine LÉVIGNE-FLETCHER was immersed in art in all its forms right from childhood: archaeology, handicraft, jewellery, beautiful fabrics and leather goods.

Born in Carthage, Anne-Christine Fletcher attended Carnot High School, but never missed an opportunity to accompany her father on his African journeys, across the Sahara to Libya, through Syria to Jordan.

At 22 years old, she creates her own brand of luxury accessories, Mistra, distributed in the United States and across Europe.  Specialised in luxury ingenious luggage for the business traveller, her brand is recognised for its originality by American Express and Diners Club, who promote it in exclusivity and make it known to the world.  The success is instantaneous.

Inspired by exotic images and scents, her passion for travelling and discovery never dims, nor for the freedom of creativity, for originality and for the luxury of hand-made products.

Distancing herself from Europe she soon finds herself 10,000 kilometres away, on a small island in the Indian Ocean, still relatively unknown at the time, the island of Mauritius.  She starts to design again and launches Hémisphère Sud.

Now, more than twenty years on, Hémisphère Sud has become the reference for luxury in the Indian Ocean. The brand, still inspired from her journeys, is enriched with the culture and expertise of Asia, the colours and perfumes of Africa and the designer’s ever-present inventiveness.

Nowadays, Anne-Christine’s creations are present in some of the most beautiful hotel palaces of the world.  The most demanding of clients may now find her range of bags, luggage, jewellery, hats and shoes, also custom-made in the best leathers.

The creations of Anne-Christine have been worn by the most beautiful women in the world at many cultural and glamorous events covered by the media. (link to testimonials)

Due to her contribution to Mauritian industry, Anne-Christine was decorated as a Commander of the Order of the Star and the Key of the Indian Ocean (C.S.K.) by the President of the Republic of Mauritius in 2009.
